  • San Antonio PD reported 94 homicides in 2015

On Monday, January 11 of this year, the San Antonio Police Department in Texas reported to the Department of Public Safety in its annual uniform crime report that there were 94 homicides in the area in 2015. This number represents a decrease from 2014’s record high of 103 homicides, but an increase from 2013’s record low of only 71.

It’s important to note that not all homicides can be legally classified as criminal offenses. Some deaths may be considered “justifiable” if the perpetrator was defending his or her life.

There are a number of factors that may contribute to the number of homicides in a year. Some of the more common are drug or gang activity, but some people may be surprised to learn that factors such as the economy or bad weather can also prompt an increase in killings.

  • Over 170 people still facing charges in Waco biker shooting

Over 170 individuals still have serious criminal charges to their names six weeks after the fatal shooting at the Twin Peaks restaurant in Waco, according to the Wall Street Journal on July 3.

Members of rival biker gangs became involved in a fatal shooting on May 17, resulting in a huge amount of arrests. However, some of those arrested arrested, including military veterans, municipal employees, and another person who said he didn’t own a motorcycle, believe they are being held unjustly.

The gunfight resulted in the death of nine people and caused injuries to at least 18 others. As of June 30, six of the people who were arrested remained in prison.

Sometimes, the justice system is overzealous and overreaches its bounds. In any situation, if you have been charged with a criminal offense in Dallas or elsewhere in Texas, it is critical to enlist the help of a skilled attorney who will work on behalf of your rights and interests. • Pistorius murder trial continues in Pretoria

Evidence against Olympic runner, Oscar Pistorius, has developed during the first week of his trial. Pistorius has been charged with premeditated murder for shooting and killing his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, 29.

A neighbor told the Pretoria court that she heard “blood-curdling screams” coming from Pistorius’s house the night that Steenkamp was found dead. Two others corroborated her testimony in the trial.

Pistorius, who admitted to having shot Steenkamp through his bathroom door with a 9-millimeter pistol, said it was a case of mistaken identity and said he thought he was shooting at a dangerous intruder. The bullets from the gun punctured Steenkamp’s head, arm, and hip area, eventually killing her.
