  • Over 170 people still facing charges in Waco biker shooting

Over 170 individuals still have serious criminal charges to their names six weeks after the fatal shooting at the Twin Peaks restaurant in Waco, according to the Wall Street Journal on July 3.

Members of rival biker gangs became involved in a fatal shooting on May 17, resulting in a huge amount of arrests. However, some of those arrested arrested, including military veterans, municipal employees, and another person who said he didn’t own a motorcycle, believe they are being held unjustly.

The gunfight resulted in the death of nine people and caused injuries to at least 18 others. As of June 30, six of the people who were arrested remained in prison.

Sometimes, the justice system is overzealous and overreaches its bounds. In any situation, if you have been charged with a criminal offense in Dallas or elsewhere in Texas, it is critical to enlist the help of a skilled attorney who will work on behalf of your rights and interests. • Millionaire Robert Durst indicted on firearm charges in Louisiana

Seventy-one-year-old New York City real estate heir Robert Alan Durst was indicted on April 8 by a grand jury in New Orleans, Louisiana for the possession of firearms by a felon and possession of both a firearm and an illegal drug, which was 5 ounces of marijuana, KTTC reported.

Durst’s attorneys said the charges have forced him to stay in New Orleans against his wishes. Also, his defense will likely include the argument that his weapon charges arrest was illegal, as FBI agents searched his hotel room without a warrant and before his arrest.

The indictment contained 15 aliases. Two were variations of his name, while others were monikers he has used previously: Dorthy Ciner, the name he used as a deaf-mute man in Texas, and Morris Black, which is the name of a neighbor he dismembered. In that situation, Durst was acquitted due to an argument of self-defense.

  • Pistorius murder trial continues in Pretoria

Evidence against Olympic runner, Oscar Pistorius, has developed during the first week of his trial. Pistorius has been charged with premeditated murder for shooting and killing his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, 29.

A neighbor told the Pretoria court that she heard “blood-curdling screams” coming from Pistorius’s house the night that Steenkamp was found dead. Two others corroborated her testimony in the trial.

Pistorius, who admitted to having shot Steenkamp through his bathroom door with a 9-millimeter pistol, said it was a case of mistaken identity and said he thought he was shooting at a dangerous intruder. The bullets from the gun punctured Steenkamp’s head, arm, and hip area, eventually killing her.
