  • Felony case against Colleyville mother for role in prank dismissed

The case against 43-year-old Colleyville resident Tara Mauney for her role aiding local children in vandalizing a neighbor’s house in 2012 was recently dropped after Mauney apologized to the victim and paid for the damages, WFAA reported on August 7.

Mauney was facing felony criminal mischief charges for the July 25, 2012 incident of vandalism to a neighbor’s house. Children attacked the house with toilet paper, mustard, peanut butter, and raw chicken. If convicted, she would have had to pay $10,000 in fees and may have faced jail time.

Because Mauney refused a plea agreement last year, the woman pressing charges agreed to drop them so children would not have to testify in court.

  • Killeen man allegedly assaults woman, jumps from second floor window

Killeen resident Darius Troy Morrow, 26, is facing state-felony charges of criminal mischief in an amount of more than $1,500 but less than $20,000 after jumping from the second floor of an apartment complex and onto the roof of a vehicle.  Morrow was also charged with misdemeanor assault with bodily injury to a family member.

According to a woman on the scene, Morrow bashed her head against the door of her apartment that night and then forced her to leave. Morrow then went inside of another apartment on the second floor of the complex and jumped from the window, landing on a car and damaging the roof, hood, and windshield

Morrow is currently in custody at the Bell County Jail.
