DPD officer on leave after DWI charge

Police Officer Aaron Rodarte of the Dallas Police Department in Texas was charged with driving while intoxicated and evading on foot on November 30 after his arrest in Highland Park, WFAA8 reported.

The Highland Park Department of Public Safety did not give specific details concerning the circumstances of Rodarte’s arrest.

Rodarte, who is assigned to the South Central Patrol Division, is currently on administrative leave while the internal affairs division in Dallas is conducting an investigation into his case.

Rodarte is another member of the Dallas police force to commit recent infractions against the law. On November 24, Officer Jesus Martinez was terminated from his position after being charged with official oppression for using excessive force against a person panhandling for money.
